Beanie Kids Blog - Beanie Master’s Brownies!

Hi Beanie Fans!

I just love chocolate and I hope all of you do as well. Below is my favourite recipe for making yummy chocolate brownies. Cooking is a great weekend activity. If you try this recipe at home, make sure you get Mum or Dad’s help.

INGREDIENTS

200 g (8 rows) of your favourite chocolate, chopped
125 g butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup self-raising flour
1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips

This will make about 15 brownies

1. Preheat the oven to 160°C with the help of an adult.
2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl using the microwave on Medium power for 2-3 minutes.
3. Stir in the sugar, vanilla essence and the eggs. Mix well.
4. Add the flour and nuts or choc chips, and stir well.
5. Pour the mixture into a lined 28 x 18 cm baking pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
6. Leave in the pan to cool. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.

When I saw the title ‘Beanie Master’s Brownies’ I got really excited because I thought you meant the Brownie elves like the littlier version of the Girl Scouts/Girl Guides. Did you know that in New Zealand this very year we are celebrating 100 years of Girl Giudes. Last year it was 100 years of Scouting. We have a new uniform to celebrate 100 years. In New Zealand we have Pippins aged 5-6, Brownies 7-10, Girl Guides 10-14 and Rangers 14-18 and we all love new adventures. Not sure what the Australian equivalent is but I bet they love new adventures too. In January we went to Girl Guide Jamboree in Christchurch. There were Australian Guides there too.
