Surf’s up and so is the sun! It’s day one of my holiday road trip and things are already hotting up! After parking the van on the foreshore I decided to take a dip on the golden sands of Beanie Beach only to realize I had forgotten to pack my bucket and spade.
There is nothing I like more than building sand castles. So I found the biggest spoon I could find in the van and started to dig. I was making very little progress when two lovely Beanie Kids came over and asked me if I would like some help. Their names were Lachlan the Beach Buddy Boy Bear and his sister Sophie the Beach Buddy Girl Bear. In no time we had made an amazing castle using seaweed, shells and cuttlefish bone. Soon it became so hot that we needed a cool dip in the water.
We took Lachlan’s ball and played catch in the shallows. All of a sudden a large gust of wind blew the ball from Sophie’s hands and out to sea! Lachlan was very upset as he only had the ball for a few days and thought he would never see it again. Suddenly the ball magically shot up into the sky and flew back towards the shore. It landed just metres from me so I quickly grabbed it and gave the ball back to Lachlan. ‘How did that happen?’ asked Sophie. We all looked out to sea and saw a smiling blue whale waving back to us. His name was Dale. He had used his blowhole to blow the ball back to us. What a memorable day at the beach.
What’s your favorite thing to do at the beach? I’d love to know.
Bye for now.
