“Is everything packed? I’d hate to be late.”
“It’s all packed. I just have to check if Ginny and Ron are ready. George is meeting us there.” Mr Weasley said.
“Ok, good.” Mrs Weasley exhaled. “Can you go and see if they’re ready yet please?”
“Of course Molly.” Mr Weasley answered, giving his wife a smile.
“Now just to- WHOSE SOCKS ARE THESE?” Mrs Weasley screeched.}

Christmas Day loomed ever nearer. Houses all over Britain were decorating their houses with Yule tide and Holly and Mistletoe. Christmas trees were being put up and decorated by the fireplaces. It was a time to rejoice, and for a lot of people they were celebrating for two reasons. Along with Christmas, the other reason was that it was the first holiday since Lord Voldemort was defeated by Harry Potter. All over the world witches, wizards and squibs alike had been celebrating for six months now, and all the excitement of Christmas had added to the celebrating. But not all the witches, wizards and squibs were celebrating. They were mourning the loved ones they lost in the Battle of Hogwarts. Among those who were mourning was the Weasley family, Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter. They had all lost people they loved, due to the Battle. And the festivities of the coming holiday weren’t brightening their spirits. Despite what they said, their faces showed how they were feeling.

“ARTHUR!” Mrs Weasley called from the kitchen of the Burrow.
“Yes Molly?” Mr Weasley replied, walking into the kitchen.
“Is everything packed? I’d hate to be late.”
“It’s all packed. I just have to check if Ginny and Ron are ready. George is meeting us there.” Mr Weasley said.
“Ok, good.” Mrs Weasley exhaled. “Can you go and see if they’re ready yet please?”
“Of course Molly.” Mr Weasley answered, giving his wife a smile.
“Now just to- WHOSE SOCKS ARE THESE?” Mrs Weasley screeched.

“Ron?” Mr Weasley said whilst he knocked on Ron Weasley’s bedroom door. “Are you and your sister ready to go?”
The door opened a fraction, and Ron’s head came into view. “Yeah, almost. I just can’t find my socks. I’ve looked everywhere.”
“Have you checked the kitchen?” Mr Weasley inquired.
“I’ll go check. Thanks Dad.”
“Have you seen your sister?” Mr Weasley called after his son who was already on the 5th floor landing.
“She’s in the Orchard I think,” Ron called back.
“Why would she be in the Orchard?” asked Mr Weasley.
“I dunno. That was the last place I saw her.” Ron replied. “Ah wait, she’s in the bathroom.”
“Ok, thanks Ron.” Mr Weasley replied.

“Dad’s looking for you.” Ron uttered to his sister when he walked passed her.
“Thanks, I could hear you both upstairs. You two should really get ‘inside voices’. It might do you some good one of these days.” Ginny retorted.
Ron’s ears flamed red as he went down to the kitchen. Ginny rolled her eyes and walked up to her brother’s room.
“Ah Ginny, there you are.” Mr Weasley smiled.
“Ron told me you were looking for me,” Ginny replied. “Is everything alright?”
“Everything’s fine. Your mother sent me up to see if you and Ron were ready to go.” Mr Weasley explained.
“Well I don’t know about Ron, but I’ve been ready since last night. I’ve just been double checking that I’ve got everything. I just need to take my trunk down to the kitchen.” Ginny answered.
“Very good. Do you want some help getting your trunk down to the kitchen?”
“I’m alright. I was going to use the Locomotor Charm.” Ginny said.
“Well, alright. I’ll tell your mother that you’re read-“
“GO UPSTAIRS AND PACK THOSE SOCKS RIGHT THIS INSTANT! WE’RE ALMOST LATE AS IT IS!” Mrs Weasley bellowed.
“I suggest you get your trunk down stairs now,” Mr Weasley whispered.
“Dad, you read my mind.” Ginny replied before walking to her bedroom.

‘Any moment. Any moment now.’ Harry Potter thought to himself. It was almost noon on Christmas Eve, and he’d been sitting by himself in the foyer of number twelve Grimmauld Place for an hour now. Kreacher was somewhere downstairs. Harry exhaled. It had been months since he’d seen everyone. He’d been so busy going around Britain and seeing the destruction that Lord Voldemort had caused. He’d sent many owls while he was away, to one person in particular, but that was about the only time he had to himself when he wasn’t sleeping, eating, showering, visiting towns and cities, and helping families rebuild their houses. Harry was glad to get back to Grimmauld Place after his long trip. Kreacher was happy to be home too, as he had accompanied Harry. Kreacher was a good companion, always up for a chat. But there were things you couldn’t talk to a House Elf about; things that involved another person.
The time dragged by. Harry was about to give up and leave the foyer, when he heard a thud coming from the floor above.
Thud Thud Thud. Harry ran up the stairs to the first floor sitting room. When he emerged through the door, a smile sprang onto his lips. Someone was there. Someone he knew very well. The person crossed the sitting rooms’ floor in two strides. A smile played across her lips. Harry’s heart sped up. He loved that smile. That smile was what kept him going while he was away. That smile kept him fighting against Voldemort. That smile had kept him going through so much. Through the pain, the heart break and the sacrifice, the girl who smiled had kept him going.
“Ginny,” Harry breathed. “I m-”
Before Harry could finish, Ginny had put her hands on either side of Harry’s face, and pulled it closer to his. “Shhh,” she whispered, before kissing him more passionately than when she kissed him on his seventeenth birthday.

“Where’s everyone else?” Harry asked, after he detangled his hands out of Ginny’s hair.
“Still coming. Ron forgot to get his owl, but I had almost disappeared in the flames by the time they called me back.” Ginny replied, sitting down on the couch. “Has anyone else come yet?”
“No,” Harry said as he sat next to her. “it’s just you, me and Kreacher for the time being. Hermione’s supposed to get here at about five, and George is getting here later tonight. Teddy and Andromeda might stop in too.”
“Sounds like this place’ll be packed.” Ginny presupposed.
“Probably will be. But I think Kreacher’s up to it; I definitely am. I’ll be even happier when everyone else gets here.”
“You’re happy already?” asked Ginny.
“Well, you’re sitting with me, so I’d say I’m pretty happy.” Harry smiled, taking her hand. Ginny was about to answer, when a knock at the door interrupted her.
“Master Harry, lunch is ready when- oh Miss Ginny is here too!” Kreacher croaked as he bowed.
“Thank you Kreacher. What’s for lunch today?” Harry asked.
“Sheppard’s Pie sir. Would Miss like some too?” Kreacher asked, surveying Ginny.
“Yes please Kreacher.” Ginny answered sweetly. No sooner had Ginny answered, there was another thud, and another person stepped through the fireplace. A long, gangly person.
“Ron!” Harry exclaimed as he stood up and hugged his best friend. “Good to see you mate.”
“You too,” Ron smiled. “Oh and Ginny, Mum and Dad are pretty angry, so fair warning.”
“I can handle it. Nothing I haven’t seen before. They, well Mum will, just yell about how I left without them, but then she’ll calm down when she sees that I’m fine.” Said Ginny.
“Mhmm. So, is Hermione here yet?” Ron asked.
“Not yet, should be here in a few hours.” Harry answered. “Lunch anyone?”
“Yes! I’m so hungry!” Ron said hungrily.
“Ron, you ate not two hours ago.” Ginny interjected.
“That’s beside the point.”
Ginny rolled her eyes and took Harry’s hand in hers as the three of the walked down to the kitchen.
“We should leave a note, to let your parents know where we are.” Harry conferred.
“Probably should.” Ron agreed.
Harry took a piece of parchment, a quill and ink out of a cabinet and quickly sprawled on it, then left it on the coffee table. “Ok, time for lunch.”
“Sounds excellent.” Ron said, almost running out the door to the kitchen.
“Unbelievable,” Ginny muttered.
“You are,” Harry smiled, wrapping his arm around her waist and following the sound of Ron eating.

As the sunset, Harry, Ginny and Ron were sitting in the sitting room by the fire, drinking Butter beers.
“So how’s your seventh year, Ginny?” Ron enquired.
“It’s not too bad, though Romilda keeps nagging me.” Ginny replied.
“What’s she been nagging you about?”
“Harry. She’s been saying stuff like, ‘What’s it like dating the bravest most handsome wizard of all time?’ I’m so close to snapping and jinxing her.” Ginny said. “And that’s not the half of it. She’s been going around saying stuff about Harry ending it with me was a good thing, that I was using him for his fame and that she’d make a better girlfriend. She’s a bigger hypocrite than you.”
Ron’s ears flamed red, but he didn’t say anything back. Ron’s attention had been diverted away from Ginny, to the window facing Grimmauld Place.
“Harry, do Death Eaters still come by and watch the house?” Ron asked, peering through the lace curtains.
“No, not since we were here last year. Why? Is there a Death Eater out there?” Harry asked, his fingers itching for his wand.
“I dunno if it’s a Death Eater, but someone’s out there. Pretty hard not to miss them dressed in black with snow all around them.” Ron replied.
Harry walked over to Ron and looked out the window, and saw what Ron had seen. Ginny silently walked out the door, without being heard.
“You don’t think its Malfoy, do you?” Ron asked with a hint of resentment in his voice.
“Better not be. Just because we saved him numerous times doesn’t mean that anything’s changed.” Harry growled.
Before Ron could agree, the ‘someone’ walked up to the house, which was not visible to Muggle eyes. It must be a wizard. Adrenaline coursed through Harry’s veins. The sun was barely visible behind the high buildings opposite Grimmauld Place, and the ‘someone’ was walking ever closer to the house. Harry and Ron knew what they had to do. They sprinted from the window, grasping their wands, down the staircase, and into the narrow foyer. They had both mentally planned an attack against the person. But when they reached the front door, the plans they made were driven out of their minds. The front door was wide open, and two people were walking through it. Harry stopped dead. He looked to Ron, whose face had lit up with delight. He looked back at the front door, but only saw a blur of bushy brown hair, and heard a crash as Ron keeled over backwards, holding Hermione in his arms, and laughing as they tried to get up.
