A Rose Petal
Chapter 1
A strange noiseIt was midnight when Lola Kellogg woke by a strange noise coming from outside. Lola took of her blanket and slipped on her pink fluffy slippers. She ran out of her room and came to a halt as she looked down at the long wooden steps that she had fell down when she was only 2 years old but that was 10 years ago. Lola jumped step by step reaching the bottom and opened the front door hoping that she would see her 2 beloved twin kittens Smitten and Mitten who disappeared 1 month ago, sitting there waiting for her at the step on the door. Instead she saw nothing, the noise stopped as well. Lola closed the front door and walked head down back to her room and went back to sleep. The next morning Lola woke up early like she always did, she went down stairs and opened up the front door to see if anything was there from last night but all she saw was the beautiful garden her mum takes care of. In Mrs. Kellogg’s garden you can see flowers of all sorts, hedges that have been cut into many shapes and sizes, there are plenty on gnomes and bird baths but mostly you would find roses, roses of all colours. Lola loved the pink roses and that’s when she heard the noise again! Lola tiptoed over to the pink flowers and noticed a new rose was growing. Lola loves new roses, she leaned forward and….
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” screamed Lola, she had no idea what was going on!
Chapter 2
What happened?Lola was still falling but she could tell she was getting close to the end of the line.
As Lola landed she fell on the ground with a big thump. She stood up and looked around trying to remember what had happened.
“Well I was walking towards the new petal and then there was a gust of wind that blew the petal in the air and then……………….. it landed in front of me on the grass and then it opened up and there was pink stuff……………… swirling inside of it and then I struggled to stand so I grabbed onto the tree…………… but the wind was too strong and it sucked me in! And then I fell a long way down and here I am” Lola remembered with a startled look on her face.
Lola looked up wondering if she would be able to climb out of this rose but she new it would be too hard and too high to climb it. Lola walked in circles thinking what to do, but there was really only one thing Lola thought she could do and that was start running in circles until she woke up from this terrible dream she was having.
“Ow” Lola said rubbing her head because she had just fallen over a piece of the petal.
“1,2,3” Lola counted getting ready to open her eyes and find herself inside her home, she new exactly what she was going to say to her mum, she would say in a big loud voice “MUM I MADE YOU BREAKFAST”
Lola opened her eyes “MU……m”
Chapter 3
This is not a dreamLola felt like crying she was still inside the beautiful baby pink rose that seemed harmless. Lola looked up to find a strange flower creature looking at her eye to eye.
“Hello” said a squeaky voice that came from the strange creature
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………… hi” Lola replied starting at the creature
“Are you lost? How did you get here? You look awfully tired; you should come with me where you can clean up and rest” stated the creature
“Well I fell and I’m very lost now and yes I’m very tired but……” Lola couldn’t finish her sentence because the creature started pulling her down a pink footpath that lead to a beautiful pink town. Everything was pink or had at least something pink on it.
Lola woke up to find her self in a really fluffy pink bed it felt like a fluffy cloud and it looked like one too. Lola smelt the smell of her favourite drink hot chocolate with grated chocolate on top, she followed the smell that led into a small pink kitchen with small pink tiles, cupboards pot and pans, pink everything. Lola noticed the weird creature was in the kitchen making up breakfast
“Good morning” said the creature
“Hi” Lola replied still a little nervous about everything
“Please take a seat and your breakfast will be ready in no time”
Lola sat down on a unusual shaped pink chair that also felt like a fluffy cloud. In no time the strange creature sat down with 2 plates one for Lola and one for itself.
“I haven’t introduced myself yet have I”
“No you haven’t” Lola answered straight away
“well I am Rosie Lavender, I look after Bloomville” Rosie said with great pride
“Bloomville what’s that?” Lola wondered
Chapter 4
BloomvilleAs Rosie Lavender sat at the table with Lola across from her, Lola listened carefully as she explained the story of Bloomville.
Rosie Lavender first came to Bloomville when she was only 2 years old, she was in her mums beautiful backyard when she saw a beautiful new baby rose coming up. She went over to have a look at it when all of a sudden the wind changed it began to blow so hard Rosie was struggling to stay standing so she grabbed onto the closest thing she could find and that was a pole. Rosie noticed that the beautiful rose was coming off the rose tree so she leaped forward pulling herself towards the rose that was on the ground. When she reached it she saw pink stuff swirling inside of it, and then she fell in.
Lola thought for a moment trying to remember where she’d heard that before
“Wait you fell down the rose too? So did I” Lola told Rosie
Rosie just sat there wondering what to say
“So you’re the mayor here?” Lola asked Rosie
“Yes that’s right I’m the mayor” Rosie agreed with Lola “would you like to have a look at your new home”
“New home, Rosie I’m not…” Lola didn’t have the heart to tell Rosie that she didn’t want to live in this rose.
“Your not, what?” asked Rosie curiously
“Huh oh never mind lets just go and show me around Bloomville although I think I’ve seen it already” Lola decided
“Oh no that was only some of Bloomville” Rosie assured Lola
Rosie took Rosie outside and unlocked her pink car and Lola jumped in and once again found herself on a really comfortable chair like a cloud.
“Wow these chairs are so soft” Lola commented
“Yeah they are aren’t they, I got them on special”
Rosie turned around a small corner and there Lola saw what Lola meant about only seeing only some of Bloomville.
