Writers Circle is a place to share your story and get some feedback, to come with any kind of question-and get it answered, or just to chat about stories in general. I have left the forum and will only be on every two weeks if that, so MOJOJOJO aka MONIQUE and CAITY aka CAITYXOXO will be the founders of this topic.They can oprgainise anything they want, so listen to them. Please enter the Writers Circle Poem Compitition 2010!

Write a poem about anything,anything at all! It can rhyme,be humorous,heartfelt or anything else you can think of. There is no set limit on words just don't make it too long as we need to get through entries.


Rules and Details:

Caityxoxo and mojojojo are the judges. Their decision is final.
We will judge fairly,considering your age,and will not be biased in our decisions. We will keep each entry and discuss our opinions on each.
Competition commences 12th March 2010 and closes March 31st. Winners will be announced shortly after.
PM myself or Caity with your entry and we will send it to each other. ANY POSTED IN THE WRITERS CIRCLE WILL BE IGNORED! Prize is a mystery

RULES TO REMEBER:
NEW RULE!
YOU CAN NOT POST EGGS IN THIS TOPIC.
AS IT ANNOYS DEE. 1. Not everybody may like your story; but don't worry, Authors have to cope with both negative and positive feedback. The best way to deal with negat

ive feedback is to ignore it. Only remember the positive feedback. If you argue with a person bescause they dislike your story, you will be asked to leave the topic.

2. Even though swear words are blanked out, make sure you don't use substatue swear-words-ones that don't get blanked out- or slang.

3. Remeber, lots of different age groups are on this fourm, therefore if an 8-year-old presents there Story to get feedback, it will be very different to a 12-year-olds piece of writing. Remember to judge the story on not only age, but skill and writing technique.

4. Remember every has a different writing technique. Its entirly unique, and good Authors always have their own style, and DO NOT copy anyone elses.

5. By joining the Writers Circle you have practicly made an oath not to copy part of, or whole stories from the origonal owner. As this is called Copywrite and you CAN GET FINED for it.

Dees Tips
"I have a few tips on something we writers call WRITERS BLOCK. The first thing about Writer Block, is that some people use it as an exuse. They jsut say, "Sorry, I can't write anymore I've got writers block!" when in actual fact they are just can't be bothered to Write! If you are making up exuses this shows your lack of dedication and commitment to your writing. In this case I would suggest not writing for a few days or even weeks, and then trying to start writing again. But if you, again, start saying exuses then writing just isn't your cup of tea. Try something else. Like poetry.

But if you are infact stuck for ideas, or have no insperation, these are my tips: 1. Look around your house, what are some interesting items of worth? Maybe an old family pendant, or maybe that old Diary that you Great Great Grandma wrote and you've never looked at. Theres a saying that goes, "All accidents happen in the home.", but there is one I got taught at school called, "All writing starts from the home." Take that saying anf bring it to life.
2. Go to your local cafe and observe people without making it ovious; watch there behaviour in different situations, see their reactions. Watch how they speak, and what tones of voices they use. This will help you in writing, it will make your story more beliavble...and it may just give you a few ideas.
3. My third and final tip to conquer Writers Block is this: Read heaps. Spend every spare moment you have got reading. Reading does many things; open your eyes to interesting words, help you see how you write different genres, and reall,y if you just want a very, very basic idea to start your story, wiithout compeltley copying a published books plot, you can try writing something like the book. 3

Wellll... I've always been told I'm a good writer () but I havn't really become an extremly keen writer until the second half of last year. (:

I only became interested because in the NAPLAN test last year, writing was like a band 6 and thats one of the highest you can get plus it was the highest thing i got in thw whole test.

Chapter 1:

Josh was a cool, quiet kind of guy, the sort of guy I liked until I found out he had just came out of jail for abusing his girlfriend Sammy. He told me he had changed and everything but I just wasn’t sure whether I could trust him yet, as he held my hand and squeezed it, I smiled back at him. ‘Jade? He said’ ‘Yeah.. I mumbled’ ‘What’s the matter? You look like your worried he said’ ‘I’m fine I said’ as I stubbled over a rock, this trigged me to say what I was really feeling, as my toe throbbed and thick blood started to appear, I pulled myself together and done what I should of done a year ago, broken up and ended this, what was I doing anyway with him, he just got out of jail!’ ‘JOSH, I AM SORRY BUT I CAN’T TRUST YOU ANYMORE, ITS OVER! I screamed’ I screamed the last part to make sure he understood it was really over, not just a temporary things that sometimes couples do. ‘What? Honey, Jade, I love you he said’ ‘No you don’t! Your just trying to  me in, do you really think I want to end up like poor Sammy! I screamed’ ‘Honey, that was a mistake, I have changed! He said’ ‘No, you haven’t! It’s OVER! I said’ I ran off, ran for my life. I heard his footsteps creeping up behind me. ‘Leave me alone! I said’ Turning around I saw his face, filled with guilt and embrassment. He reached out for my hand. ‘Leave me alone! Go Josh! I said’ ‘Darling, lets go home, sort this out, Jade I love you’ he said for the millionth time today. ‘Do you really want me to call the police? I asked’ As I got out my mobile phone. I called for Mum to pick me up and ran off to the nearest café to get away from him.
