Heres a story I wrote. Not finished.
They were crawling quietly towards me like the shadows of the night. I was trapped in the isolated darkness. I was alone, and something was after me. Whatever it was, it was not normal. I didn’t know what it was, and I was scared. As I ran, I would feel the slight wind against my ankles and I would hear my fast pace of my feet on the stone hard ground. I could feel them catching up quickly, though I my legs would not bring me to the speed I needed, like one of those dreams. Where were the streets? Where were the people? Where was everything? It felt as though everything was gone.
I turned a corner, another and another. It was endless, I wasn’t going anywhere, like the darkness was tricking me. I needed to rest. I struggled to get further, I ran to what seems like the end of the world. But no, nothing. Still nothing. I breathed in the air, it was different; more moist than normal. But that didn’t matter so much. I needed to hide. They were still coming, endlessly. I couldn’t hide, I was revealed to everyone and everything like the walls were a mere illusion. I couldn’t go further, no more. I wouldn’t care. My legs failed me and I fell to the ground, my tears dripping onto the ground. I gave up, I failed, but I don’t care anymore. Any moment now they would be here. Whatever they were. Maybe this was a dream? A looked around. All I could see was walls made of stone, going on and on as there was no end. The air was still and it was silent. Nothing came. I was absolutely sure something was chasing me, I heard them creep after me before. But still, nothing. I looked up at the sky with wide eyes, it was all black. No stars at all, but the moon. I looked down. Something was there in the distance.
I stared into its red eyes. It was like a ghost. Grey, floating, lifeless and full of hatred. I had to run. Soon the chasing game started again. I couldn’t run forever. So I stopped. The ghost grabbed me. I fainted.
I opened my eyes. It was dark. I couldn’t see where I was. “Ahh she’s awake” a low voice bellowed. I froze with terror. The “ghost” was still with me. “Hmm lets have a look” replied another low voice. There was another one. My eyes adapted to the dark a bit better and I could make out the silhouette of the “ghosts”. I asked what they were. “We are drainons”. Said one patiently.
“What do you want with me? Where am I? Where was I before? Will you hurt me-“
“Hush!” shouted one. “Too many questions” he said to the other. One of their silhouettes got closer to me. I could see their glaring red eyes. I shivered. “Ahh their so puny.” It said. My fists clenched. I was about to hit it when I realised that my arms and legs were clenched to the wall. “What do you want!” I yelled to it.
