As Harry, Ron and Ginny get used to Hogwarts without Hermione, a competition between Gryffindor and Slytherin arises, run by Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Meanwhile, Hermione unintentionally becomes the enemy of the most popular girl in Bloomsmary.

Ginny turned the spoon around in her cereal. It was a day after Hermione had left. Hermione was Ginny's best friend. She would be missed terribly. After Ron had come back from Hogsmeade, he had walked up to the boys dormitories and didn't come down. Harry had spoken to him, and told Ginny Ron said Hermione was fine, he just missed her. Ginny understood.

Ron walked into the Great Hall silently. He ignored all the comments made by the Slytherins, because they had a habit of doing that. Everyone was used to it. Ron would usually glare at them, but today he looked like a lost puppy. He looked useless, and very upset.

'Ron are you OK?' Ginny asked.
Ron nodded and began buttering some toast. 'I just have to get used to it.'
Now Ginny nodded.
'HEY! Are you able to stand up now? I thought you couldn't do anything withour you mudblood girlfriend's help!' A Slytherin called out.
Ron's fists clenched as he stood up and glared at the Slytherins. 'Don't. Talk. About. Hermione. Like. That. If. You. Know. What's. Good. For. You.'
The Slytherins laughed.
'You think you can beat me up?' the Slytherin answered.
'Yeah. And I'm not afraid to. I am a Gryffindor' Ron said.
'Oh yeah? Well heres a newflash - Gryffindor stinks. Slytherin is ten times better.'
'Nope. You're wrong. No wonder you didnt end up in Ravenclaw.' Ron shot back.
'No. I'm right. And --'
'Would you both settle down?' Luna Lovegood stood up and said her usual gentle voice. 'I have become quite sick of the Gryffindor-Slytherin war. How about we have a competition to settle this once and for all? The Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws can choose an elective each to run the competition. It can be a quiz, or some physical race. Anything. Now what do you say?'
The Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs cheered. Ravenclaw beamed with pride. Slytherin grumbly agreed, although they may have just done that because they didn't want to show they loved Luna's idea.
'We elect Luna!' Some of the Ravenclaws called out. 'She thought of this!'
'We'll have Justin as our representative!' The Hufflepuffs exclaimed, and Justin Finch-Fletchy smiled.
'Well that's settled then. First task will be from Hufflepuff, and will be announced tomorrow. The actual challenge will take place on Tuesday, after tomorrow.' Luna announced, then sat down to continue her discussion with fellow Ravenclaws about Wrackspurts and how they are better than Nargles.

'Nice Ron. Can you control your temper?' Ginny asked
'You heard what they said about Hermione!' Ron said stubbornly.
'I wonder what the challenge will be...' Harry said, who had joined them.
'I dunno.' Ginny replied
'I wonder what Hermione's doing right now...' Ron sighed.
Harry and Ginny exchanged a glance, then continued their meal.

'There.' Hermione said, adjusting a photo on her wall. Unfortunately, it didn't move. Her moving pictures were going to be kept in the suitcase which was now under her bed. The photo she had just put up was of her, Harry and Ron in fifth year.

She had completely unpacked now. Her books covered the entire desk, as well as the shelves provided. Hermione picked up Crookshanks and sat down on the bed and sighed. Poor Hefflecup, Hermione thought. She's going to have to secretly deliver my letters. It's going to be hard. I know it is. The Bloomsmary students mail is delivered each morning through the crack between the door and floor.

Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. She stood up, still holding Crookshanks, and carefully opened the door.
There stood a tall girl. She had light blond hair that stopped at her shoulders, green eyes and her puffy cheeks were red.
'Hello.' the girl said. Her voice sounded very posh.
'Uh, hi I'm--'
'I'm Connie McHughes. I'm the school leader here at Bloomsmary College.' the girl interrupted
'Hello.' Hermione smiled.
'I am here to give you a low down on the ruled here.' Connie said
'Oh, I already have the rules here. The principal gave me a sheet with them.' Hermione said
'No.' Connie scoffed. Then she leaned over. 'The rules that I have.'
'What do you mean?'
'I run the school.'
'No, I believe that's the principals job.' Hermione giggled
'I have power over the students. It's how I was elected into this position. I made them. Everyone is scared of me. You know why? Because I can make even a major celebrity embarrassed. One of the girls had to leave the school because of the humiliation I caused her - because she didn't follow the rules. Now here.' She handed the sheet of paper to her, then slammed the door.

Hermione sat down on the bed once more. Crookshanks jumped down and sat down on the floor. Hermione began reading the rules.

1. I'm the top student in class. You do not answer any question asked by a teacher, even if she calls on you. Just say you dont know.
2. I go out with Jamie Tory from Harrington. You like him - too bad. He's mine.
3. You do not show you are better than me in any way.
4. Do not talk to the principal.
5. Don't try to humiliate me in any way - fighting fire with fire doesn't work.

Hermione rolled her eyes. She wondered how bad Connie could be.
But I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I've got Music first.

Then Hermione got out a quill and sheet of paper, and began writing a ltter to Ginny.

Dear Ginny,
You will not believe the girl I just encountered...

Just thought it case anyones interested, I'll tell you how I came up with All Put War.

Because the competition escalates into practically a war, and Hermione and Connie will try to beat each other.
