Tyler Benjamin, a forth year, walked into the Gryffindor common room.

'Hey! They've announced the first challenge! It's held by Hufflepuff. It will be a race. So we need 4 competitors who are fast.'

'Harry definitely.' said a fifth year. 'He's super fast. Remember, he is the Seeker, and he was fast before he came to Hogwarts, when he ran away from his cousin. Also, he was on the run last year, and he must have had some run-ins with the bad guys right?'
'Ok, Harry you're in.' Tyler said.
'Go Harry!' Ginny exclaimed and hugged him, making Harry blush. A few other girls saw that and said 'Can we do that?', making both Ginny and Harry say 'No' firmly.
Ron rolled his eyes.
'Now, who else?' Tyler said. Apparently, Tyler was a nice boy, but bossy.
'Danny here is pretty fast.' A girl said, pointing to a boy a few metres to her left. The boy was a first year, and he looked slightly scared at being the centre of attention.
'Ok Danny, we've got you too!'
Danny moaned and fell down onto the couch.
'He'll be fine.' Tyler said hastily 'Anyone else?'
'I think I should be on the team.' A hoarse voice said. It belonged to Stevie Joshson, who was a third year, but acted as if he had the entire school under his control. He was obnoxious, and slightly self centred. 'I'm quite fast, after all, I have one a lot of races.'
'Ok, we'll have you.' said Tyler rather reluctantly.
'Hey!' A voice called out. 'How about you Tyler?'
'Yeah!' several others agreed
'Um, ok?' Tyler said. 'I guess we've got the four!'

Gryffindor clapped, then started chanting 'Go go Gryffindor! Go go Gryffindor!'
Harry, Ginny and Ron joined them. But Ron only did it two times. It seemed as though he had remembered something, and his face turned from pride to sad. He told Ginny and Harry he had a headache, and slowly walked up the steps to the boys dormitory.

He got out a quill and began writing.

Dear Hermione,
Missing you. A lot.
Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are tired of the 'Who's better - Gryffindor or Slytherin' thing, so they've planned a competition. There'll be a challenge from Ravenclaw and one from Hufflepuff. The Hufflepuff one is first, and is a race. We've got our team. Harry, and three other boys. Everyone started cheering. I admit, I did do it a few times. Then I remembered you, and what you'd say to all this. You'd be really annoyed. So I stopped. It's going to be really hard to get used to you gone.

Anyway, how was your first day? Ginny told me about a girl that is obnoxious or something? Don't let her get to you. You're Hermione. She can't control you.

Ok I'm posting Hermione's first day

Hermione walked into the auditorium, and gasped. It was very very huge. It had a large stage at the back too. She saw the teacher, Miss Vanlighten, standing there clapping her hands to grab everybody's attention.
Hermione sat down in the second row. Connie, of course was in front.

'Welcome everyone. And also welcome to Miss Hermione... Grenville?'
'Granger.' Hermione corrected.
'Granger sorry, who is new. Welcome to Music. Today we'll be focusing on singing. I'd like to see who would like to volunteer to sing first. Just a few lines of any song.' Miss Vanlighten said
Connie's hand shot up in the air. 'Please Miss, I love singing.'
'Alright Miss McHughes.' And Miss Vanlighten gestured to the stage. Connie gleefully got up.

Her singing was very good. Sometimes it would go quiet, but then she'd fix it, by making herself even louder than before. But the voice was excellent.
'Wonderful Connie, wonderful!' Miss Valighten applauded. 'Anyone else?' She glanced around, and said 'How about you Miss Granger?'
Hermione was stunned. She couldn't sing! Well, she could - anyone could. But she wasn't good! She'd never sung in front of anyone.
'Uh, alright then.' Hermione blushed and got up on the stage. She began singing 'As I Am', a song she had written herself. The subject was, of course, Ron.

Found the piece that's miss-ing.
I'm looking at him.'
As she said that last line, she closed her eyes and thought of Ron. That way, everything she had said was true.
She opened her eyes and saw looks of amazement from everyone. Except Connie.
'Amazing!' Miss Vanlighten said. 'Wonderful! Is that an original?'
'Uh, yes.' Hermione blushed
'Uh - Miss Vanlighten!' Connie's hand shot up again 'Of course Hermione was 'amazing'. If it's an original, she'd be very good!'
'Oh, right.' Miss Vanlighten said. 'Very well, Miss Granger. Sing again.' She looked as though she just wanted to hear Hermione again.
Hermione took a deep breath and sang the chorus of 'When you're gone' by Avril Lavigne. She had thought about that song a lot when Ron left her and Harry on their Horcrux hunt.
Though it was not an original, everyone was still amazed.
Hermione had a feeling she had done well on her first lesson.

Next was Maths. Hermione had been copying down an equation, when something didn't make any sense to her.
'Uh, Miss? Miss Frunth? How come there is a two there?'
Miss Frunth looked slightly offended and said 'What do you mean? Everything is right.' But she looked back at the board.
'I think it should be a three...' Hermione said.
'Well, what would the answer be here if it was a three?'
'Seventeen.' Hermione replied
The teacher looked at the equation, and then said 'Oh! Well done Miss Granger! Excellent! See everyone? This is how you ought to be operating! Picking up every little detail.'
Hermione blushed again, and continued writing the equation down.
She forgot about Connie's rules.
And Connie looked furious.

Hermione burst into her room, exhausted and breathless after a long day of studying. She was quite pleased though, even though she greatly missed all the magical subjects she used to have. And wanted to begin doing her homework.

Crookshanks walked over to her and started mewing.
'Aw, I bet you're hungry. I think I have some food here.' Hermione looked in her drawer, and got out a few treats. She put them in a bowl and Crookshanks settled down to eat.
Hermione grabbed her books and placed them on her desk. She put her bag down in a corner, then heard a tap. Hermione turned around. She looked at the window. She saw Hefflecup outside it, tapping very softly at the window. Hermione hurried over and opened the window. Hefflecup flew in gracefully and landed on the chair next to her desk.
'Good girl Hefflecup.' Hermione murmured as she grabbed the two letters. 'Stay here, I'm going to reply to them straight away.'
She read Ginny's letter. Hermione fell onto the bed in laughter as Ginny's letter talked on and on about how the girls at Hogwarts were so interested in Harry even though he had a girlfriend already. Ginny was seriously annoyed. Then Hermione stopped laughing as another thought came to her. Girls were flirting with Harry even though his girlfriend was there! What if, some of the girls thought 'Oh wow, Ron's girlfriend is gone, maybe he'll want another one!' Hermione immediatly fumbled for a quill and wrote a very short response:

Make sure Ron doesn't do anything if any girls flirt with him.

Then she grabbed the other letter. It was from Ron. Hermione greedily read it, as if it were somehow going to disappear. She smiled at the Gryffindor Slytherin war. She sighed as Ron wrote about how he stopped cheering, and she felt tears in her eyes as he talked about how strong she was. Oh how she missed him - and it was only her second day! Hermione began writing a reply.

Dear Ron,

There was a knock on the door. Hermione quickly hid Hefflecup under a box, and opened the door. Connie McHughes stood there.

'You broke,' Connie said dramatically 'Some rules.'
'Look, I don't want to change my learning just because you dont like it.' Hermione said.
'Oh whatever.' Connie snapped 'Now. I'm here because tomorrow, Wednesday, school finishes early. So the boys from Harrington will-'
'Excuse me.' Hermione interrupted 'Boys from Harrington?'
'Harrington is a school down the road, for boys. All the school dances are held either here or at Harrington. Practically everyone except the 12 year olds have a boyfriend there. Which brings me to my warning. My boyfriend is Jamie Tory. Dont try to steal him from me.'
'Look. I already have a boyfriend. An amazing one. Not from Harrington. And I don't care who on earth thinks that I should have a boyfriend from Harrington, because I won't dump my boyfriend for anything in the universe. So don't worry about your guy.'
'Ok.' Connie seemed satisfied. 'Good. But people are gonna be shocked that your guy is not from Harrington.'
'I don't care.' Hermione said
'Also, I hope you wont break any more rules. Or the punishments will be, severe.' Connie said.
Hermione rolled her eys. 'You sound like Umbridge,' she mumbled, before closing the door.
Then she sat down and continued her letter. She said in briefly what had happened during the lessons, and told Ron about Harrington. She reassured him that there was no way any of them would replace him. Then she gave the letters to Hefflecup and Hefflecup flew off into the sky.
