The next day Harry, Ron, Ginny and Neville were walking down to the Black Lake (as it was a Saturday).
"Has anyone seen Hermione?" Ginny asked.
"No." Harry answered.
Ron stayed silent, but Neville looked a bit fidgety.
"Neville, have you seen Hermione anywhere?" Ginny asked.
"N-no. W-why w-would y-you th-think th-th-that?" he replied.
"I was just wondering, because you didn't say anything, but-"
"Ron didn't say anything either!" Neville interjected.
"-but you looked fidgety. Are you sure you haven't seen her?"
"I, er, I," Neville nervously said. "I have to um, er, um, go."
"You have to go?" Harry asked as they reached the shore of the Black Lake, that was rippling as the Giant Squid had emerged from the water.
"Yeah, I have a um, a Care of Magical Creatures essay, i need to um, finish."
"You know where she is! Tell us Neville! We deserve to know!" Ron yelled.
"I've been told nothing, and am not going to say anything." Neville said.
As soon as Neville said that, he ran for it. Not out of fear, but because Ron was tailing him, and getting closer with every step he took.
"TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!!!!" Ron screamed.
"I d-don't kn-know wh-where sh-she is!" Neville sputtered.
"YOU KNOW WHERE SHE IS! I'VE SEEN THE WAY YOU LOOK WHEN WE TALK ABOUT HER! WHAT DO YOU KNOW?"
"I don't kn-know any-anything! Believe me Ron!"
""YOU DO KNOW SOMETHING TELL ME, OR I'LL MAKE YOU TE-"
"Ron?" a vocie said. "Ron, what are you yelling about? I could hear you from the library!"

Ron stopped running almost instantly when he heard that voice.
"WHERE'VE YOU BEEN?!" Ron yelled.
"Well I'll tell you when you've stopped yelling." Hermione replied.
"Ok, I've stopped. Now will you tell me?" Ron asked.
"I'm afraid I can't; though I wish I could."
"Why can't you tell me?" Ron asked.
"Because I can't verbalise what I've been doing until I have all the facts right." Hermione replied.
"What facts? What can't you verbalise? Why can't you tell me?" Ron said in replieance.
"I just told you I can't say...yet." Hermione said.


At that moment, Harry and Ginny were walking up to the Oak front doors when they were stopped by something. More like someone.
"Potter! Hey Potter!" called a voice with a sneer.
"What does a  piece of filth like you want, Malfoy?" Ginny said before Harry could reply.
"Oh, I just thought I'd ask why Potter was still hanging around with you, Weasley. Because my sources tell me that you've been sneaking around with that Ravenclaw Micheal Corner."
Malfoy sneered.
"For your information, Malfoy, I haven't been sneaking around with Micheal."
"Then why did I see you and him snogging last night?" Malfoy replied, evily.
"You were what?!" Harry said, shocked.
"I haven't been doing anything with Micheal, Harry!"Ginny began to explain. "The last time I was with him was when I wa helping him with his Quidditch."
"Yeah, that's where I saw the brat snogging Corner." Malfoy said.
"Don't call her a brat!" harry said, gritting his teeth as he spoke.
"Just calling her as I see her."
"Get lost Malfoy." Ginny said.
After Malfoy left, Ginny turned to Harry and said, "Harry, you can't believe Malfoy, can you?"
"i don't know what to believe Ginny." Harry replied.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I let you go and help him with his Quidditch, and you go and snog him?! I thought you didn't like him!" Harry replied, outraged at what he heard.
"Harry, I don't like him! I like, no, I love you!" Ginny replied. "Are yoou ok?"
"I need some air." Harry replied, as he turned around and headed back to the Black Lake, as Ginny stood there, tears beginning to fill her eyes.

"Why did you accuse her like that Harry?" Hermione whispered to Harry at dinner.
"Because she was snogging Micheal Corner!" harry replied, barely whispering.
"You have no proof!" Hermione said
"But Malfoy said-"
"You're really gonna take Malfoy's word on this?"
"Yeah Harry, come on. I grew up with Ginny, she'd never do something like that." Ron said.
"I guess you're right; I'll go talk to her now. Where is she?" Harry said, feeling bad.
"I can show you, I just saw her." a female voice said, sweetly.
"Cho?!" Ron and Hermione said together.
"Where was she?" Harry asked.
"I saw her go into the girls lavatory. Do you want me to take you there?" She asked.
"Yeah, ok." Harry replied.

About 5 minutes later, Harry and Cho emerged from the Great Hall. As they walked, people stopped and stared at them, but Harry kept his eyes on the next Corridor. But the next thing he knew, Cho had taken his hand, and clasped it in hers. But before Harry could take his away (which was difficult, as Cho had hold of it quite tightly.), Ginny came out of the bathroom, witha blotchy red face, saw Harry's hand in Cho's, turned around, and started crying her eyes out.
Before Harry could chase after her, Ginny had run off, no-where to be seen.

"Ginny? Ginny? Are you in here?" Hermione called out, as she walked into Ginny's Dormitory.
"Y-yes," Ginny said, tearfully. "I-I'm in h-here."
"Are you ok? Last I saw Harry, he was following Cho to where she said you were. He was coming to talk to you!" hermione replied.
"Was he now? Because I when I saw him, his h-hand was in he-hers!" Ginny said, as she started to cry harder.
"Oh Ginny! Oh, I didn't know! I'll be right back." Hermione said.

"YOU WERE HOLDING CHO'S HAND? HARRY, HOW COULD YOU?" Hermione bellowed as she saw Harry in the Common Room.
"I wasn't holding her hand, she was holding mine, and Ginny ran off before I could get my hand out of hers!" Harry replied, feeling guilty.
"THAT DOESN'T EXPLAIN ANY-wait, how long did you -I mean she- hold your hand for?" Hermione asked.
"About 3 seconds, why?"
"Because, I have got an idea. I'll be back soon!"
"Hermione!" Harry replied, but she had already run out behind the portrait hole.

As Hermione got to the bottom of the Marble Staircase, she was pulled into a deserted classroom.
"Who are y-oh Ron! What are.. Why are... why are we here?" Hemione asked,
"Because I want some answers, and I want them now. Where've you been going? I haven't seen you all week, and I've missed you." Ron said.
"Ron, I told you, I can't tell y-"
"You can! I won't tell a soul, promise!"
"Ok, I'll tell you, but how do I know you won't tell anyone?"
"Because, I've got a way of proving it to you,"
As soon as Ron said those words, he leant down, and kissed Hermione squarely on the lips.

'Deep breaths,' Harry told himself. 'It'll be ok.'
knock-knock-knock went Harry's fist on the Girls Dormitory door.
"Yes?" said Lavendar Brown's voice.
"Uh hi Lavendar. Is Ginny there?" Harry asked.
"One moment," Lavendar replied. "Ginny! Harry's here to see you!" Lavendar scarsely whispered.
"O-ok; tell him I'll be out in a m-minute." Ginny replied.
"She says she'll be out in a minute!" Lavendar replied.
"Ok, thanks Lavendar." Harry said, his hopes rising.
Five minutes later, Ginny emerged from the Girls Dormitory, and without knowing it, straight into Harry's arms.
after Harry let her go, he said, "Ginny I-are you alright?"
""Yeah, a bit." she replied.
"Ginny, I'm so, so sorry. Do you wan to go for a walk?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, ok." Ginny replied.
As they departed the Gryffindor Tower, Cho walked passed them, started to smile at Harry, but stopped as soon as she saw Ginny glaring at her.
"Ginny, you have to know that I feel so bad after the way I acused you of snogging Micheal, and I apologise. And you have to know, that Cho grabbed my hand, and I tried to get my hand off from hers, but she had my hand too tightly, and, and-" Harry said, before Ginny interupted.
"Harry, I have to apologise too; I should've known that you wouldn't hold Cho's hand. And I didn't snog Micheal, I'd never do that to you."
"Ginny, I-"Harry began to say.
"Shhh." Ginny whispered. "No need to apologise again; but there is something you can do to make up for it."
"And what's that?" Harry whispered back.
"This..." Ginny said, as she pressed her lips on his. As Harry took the hint, he kissed her, as though he hadn't kissed her for years.

"So, so, that's where you've been going! You've been going to-" Ron said.
"Shhh! Don't say it out loud!" Hermione interjected."Someone could be listening!"
"Ok, but why have you been going, you-know-where?" Ron asked.
"Because, Cho and Micheal have been acting very, different than the way they usually act." Hermione replied.
"But then-" Ron started, but stopped, with a relaxed look on his face. "Oh my God! I know what they are doing!"
"What?" Hermione asked.
"Meet me here, after dinner tonight." Ron said, quickly.
"Ok, but why?" Hermione replied.
"You'll see..." Ron said, as he ran up the marble staircase.


"HARRY! HARRY, WHERE ARE YOU?" Ron called out as he entered the Gryffindor Common Room.
"He's not here Ron, but Hermione's over there, by the fire." Neville said.
"Thanks Neville, do you know where he is?" Ron asked.
"No, but I did see hi and Ginny walk out of the here together about an hour ago.' Neville replied.
"Thanks Neville; Wait, they were walking together? I thought they had a fight!" Ron said.
"Oh Ron, it's obvious isn't it? They made up!" hermione squealed.
"That's, that's great!" Ron said. "Now, I have to go find Harry."

After about 10 minutes of running around the Castle, Ron found Harry and Ginny walking up the marble staircase, hand in hand.
"Harry! There you are! can i borrow the invisibility Cloak tonight?" Ron whispered.
"Uh, yeah, ok." Harry replied. "But why do you need it?"
"I uh, need to go into the restricted section of the library for a book that uh, no teacher would sign a note for." Ron replied, stunned by the lie he had thought of on the spot.
"Ok, it's in my trunk, under my Quidditch robes." Harry replied.
"Thanks!' Ron said as her ran off towards Gryffindor Tower, thinking his plan over in his head.
