“Are you ready?” William called from the trees, “Yeah” I called back finishing of the unlucky person... In a flash, Elizabeth was by my side, pulling me, “Elizabeth?” I looked at her, “You know how we were talking about gifts” she took a long breath; William told me vampires didn’t need to actually breathe... but it was difficult not to. “Well, I sort of have a gift, I can hear well than any other vampire in the world... and the hunters just picked up our scent.” I stopped dead in my tracks, Elizabeth and William didn’t know my father was a hunter, they could kill him. But, then, Elizabeth and William are my new family now, I have to protect them... “What are we going to do?” I asked, “Were going to see what happens, we just can’t leave like this” Elizabeth said pointing to my dress, “We’ll just wait and see” she sucked in another gulp of air again...
“William?” Elizabeth called into the air, “have you found a house yet?” she continued, I felt like telling them about the house I stayed in, but it was too risky.  “Yeah, it’s not too far from the lake, not many human’s actually go there” he called down from the tree. “Okay” Elizabeth grabbed my arm and spun me round to face her, “Heidi, you’re like daughter to me, I know I’ve only known you for a few hours but, I couldn’t stand to see you hurt” she made a little speech to me. I swear, my heart may have just skipped a beat. I nodded silently; she hugged me close, like a mother should. I sobbed again into her shoulder, she pulled away to look at my face, and then she frowned looking down at my dress. “I think it’s time we found you some new clothes to wear” she laughed a soft chorus.  “They are a bit dirty” I had to admit. William jumped down from the tree, “ready?” he looked at me, then Elizabeth, and he held out his hand for her, she took it willingly. We all then took of through the forest, me and my new family...

The house nearby the lake was perfect; it was like a cottage, it had plenty of flower beds to keep Elizabeth happy, there for two bedrooms. Elizabeth told me that vampires didn’t sleep at all, so we probably won’t need them. William said he would probably just watch out to see what the hunters do, so that leaves me. It would probably be cool to hang out with my new mum in the garden, but gardening really isn’t my thing. I did find a big easel in the basement; Elizabeth said there were paints in the kitchen...
The sunlight reflected perfectly of the glass window, reviling all of the flowers my mother had cared for. She danced around the garden, diamonds reflecting of her skin, she was flawless. I knew what I wanted to paint... I slowly put the brush in the paint, scared that I would muck it up. My mother waved to me from outside, I smiled, it was so good to have a family again. “Heidi?” the velvet voice drifted across the room. I looked up to see my mother looking at me, well at my dress; “I’ve found a new dress for you” she smiled. She led me down the hall and into the room; William and herself were staying in. She pushed the door open with little force and led me to a wooden dresser. The dresser had all different types of patterns on it, all done with care. She opened it and there, lying in a single draw was an elegant, full length dress...
“I want you to have it” she said as she stroked it softly, “It was a hand-me-down” she pulled it out, shaking of any dust. She left the room for me to change; I couldn’t stop staring at how beautiful it was...

“We have a slight problem” William said as he came through the door...
“What is it?” Elizabeth asked as she glided from room to room, “There are three vampires with the hunters” I froze, “Why don’t the vampires just kill the hunters?” Elizabeth asked. “Because there good vampires” William pointed out, “Good?” I scoffed. “They only survive on the blood of animals, I guess that if they catch up to one of us they use them to destroys us” he shrugged. “Because they finally realised that guns can’t kill us” Elizabeth tried to put humour into the conversation. “How long until they get here?” that was the main question on our lips, “I think 5 minutes” Elizabeth froze next to me. “That’s not enough time” she whispered. “We have to go now” William grabbed Elizabeth and me by the arm and tugged as through the back door. I could hear their footsteps, so could Elizabeth, I didn’t know if William knew it. He looked angry and confused, the footsteps became louder...
I could see them in the distance, the three good vampires, the marched in pairs. “Before we go, can guns hurt us?” I felt stupid for asking, but it was a question that I wanted to know. “They just slow us down” Elizabeth frowned. The vampires had guns, which wasn’t very good.
We took off into the forest...

The other vampires were faster, I could see them clearer now, and they had gold eyes...
One pointed his gun at me “NO!” Elizabeth screamed...
He didn’t pull the trigger, instead he aimed at Elizabeth, there was a soft “Pop!” sound and Elizabeth fell to the ground. William held her hand as she went down, “Run!” he yelled at me. The other vampires were closing in on them, I sped up, I was about to lose my family. The sobs rose in my throat, I could hear them in the distance. I was about to break down when I that there was always the Volturi, William said they were in Volterra Italy. I ran as hard as I could, I haven’t felt this much pain since I was bitten... The sun set and I had no idea where I was, I knew where Italy was, so I shouldn’t have too much trouble finding Volterra. The sobs rose up in my throat again as I thought about William and Elizabeth, my family. I was a mess, and I didn’t really care.
I walked through Volterra, Elizabeth told me underneath the clock tower, sort of like a little hide-out. I dropped down into the sewers, it didn’t smell too bad. I walked up the long stairs and reached the top.
There was a large metal door there, I placed my hands onto it, and opened it up to my future...
