Beanie Kids Forum - One Green Jellybean

This isn't exactly a chapter; more of a prologue.

“Hold my hand,” my sister Blaire laughed, a massive grin then took over her face. It was really, really disturbing.
“No.” I said sternly. I was not going to hold her hand in a place my cousins had called, “a place to be free with no boundaries or limits”. Haha. Now I know why my uncle says that they’re a bit... well, messed up, I suppose.
“Charlie...” I felt bad for her. Really, I did, because I never listened to her - but then again, I never have, nor will because she makes me do idiotic things. I ignored her regardless but unsurprisingly she grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me along. If I had a little sister, I’d never treat her like this. I should have been the oldest. Shame on my parents. My arm was hurting at that point, which was a blessing in disguise because we had arrived at our destination. She let go of me. And we looked over the hill which we had climbed up (which was why I was embarrassed, the hill was in just perfect view of the city and anyone, including Tracey and Lara, the bullies from school would have seen me from anywhere!) and then we just looked, and waited. It was just instinctive. On this hill, only grey, old itchy grass was there. It wasn’t exactly beautiful, but the view was well worth while. What seemed like magic or something over the rainbow, was in front of my eyes. There was short, beautiful lush green grass, the sky seemed almost suddenly lighter and cloudless and there were some rocks, perfectly shaped and a simply stunning shade of grey. On the right and in the distance, all I could see was a Forrest. There were some gaps in between the trees, and then black. I wanted to run from Blaire and go check it out but doing that would be suicidal. Blaire would probably no joke kill me. And thinking about it at just that second, there they were. A sudden thumping sound and feeling and a group of brown.

They were here at last.

Gracefully but speedily, they ran. It seemed like a chocolate mob. Blaire had her hand on my shoulder, and it was pale - in fear I thought - but I ignored it. I could almost read her mind. Don’t. Move. But I had to. It was the reason I was there in the first place, to see them. I shook her hand off me and stepped closer. I felt Blaire’s stare hard against my back. I knew she wanted me to stay by her side, in fear and as a form of, well, what she likes to call “protection”. I closed my eyes. This is what I’d been waiting for. She couldn’t hold me back, older or not. “Charlie,” she whispered but she was not going to be answered. I suppose that it could have been worse. She could have not taken me here. Tears formed in my eyes. This was my life's dream. “Blaire,” I said, a tone of anger in my voice, “I’m going down.”
“Wait, what!?” she screamed, now that the mob was louder.
I ran down the hill, to which the green grass touched my feet softly and freely; it felt nice against my soles.
