blurb:
Aurore Rousseau has a lot of problems with her life. She knows she’s purposely being a bully and literally can’t stop. She’s had way, way too many bad experiences to allow her to sleep more then a broken hour every night. She has no idea what to do - until a “dream” takes her somewhere that will teach her a lesson or two...

chapter 1:
Distant voices were calling the name of Aurore Rousseau. They seemed ghostly and unfamiliar, and if you had been watching over Aurore you would have noticed her uncomfortable face, and her twitching body. This was surely the longest sleep she had had since birth. As if she had just been kicked with a soccer boot she woke up, shaking in panic, sweating a cold sweat.
  “Aurore...!” the most familiar voice called from the kitchen. Mum, thank goodness...
  She quickly ran to the kitchen, not even answering her mum - it was just to feel the warmth of the tiles, smell the food - to KNOW that she had escaped yet another dream. She sat at the table, noticing her dad and both her sister’s spots were empty and had no cutlery.
  “Where’s dad, Florey and Marcie?” Aurore’s voice was shaking. Panic was still taking over her body.
   Her mum raised an eyebrow, smiling mischievously. “The Devil took them.” She had this hint of humor in her voice, which comforted Aurore’s worried mind. All these thoughts were going crazy. Only then had she realised that Marcie had moved out of home last year, and that Florey had a job interview (and had had it for about 3 weeks). And of course, her dad worked.
  Aurore sighed, and ate her breakfast, sad that there was too much milk drowning her Cheerios. She had about 6 mouthfuls and then decided that it was too disgusting to function.
  “What as the dream about this time?” her mum’s warm voice never ceased to amaze anyone - it always seemed so angelic.
  Aurore shivered. “Some dream,” she said weakly. “Well, if you MUST know, those weird fairies came back and put mustard gas in my room, then they...” She just started crying again. “Well, at the end they took me to yours, Marcie and Florey and dad’s graves...”

chapter 2:
“Oh, Aurore!” her mum said, smiling sadly. “You know it was just a dream, right sweetie?”
To be honest, Aurore didn’t for a bit. She thought it was serious. “Um, yes, of course.” her uncertain voice was trembling.
Her mum got her some hot chocolate. It was burning but it was good enough for Aurore. She licked her lips when she finished it. Her brain felt more refreshed. Florence walked through the door, excitement just screaming out of her expression. “Mum! Dead person who’s drinking hot chocolate!”
Aurore was slightly hurt.
“I got the job! At the magazine!” Her mum and Aurore smiled.
“Congratulations, Florey!” they both said. The 3 of them all hugged.
“So, I’m just an assistant at the moment. But the editor said that if I am really good she’ll see how I am as the blogger.”
“Did she see your blog?”
Florey nodded. She joined them at the table. Their mum was talking on the phone when Florey asked, “What’s wrong with you, Rorie?” Aurore shivered. She despised being called ‘Rorie’. It was so unfeminine.
“I am Aurore,” she corrected, “not Rorie.”
“Whatever. Tell me what’s wrong.”
“Another dream if that’s what you want to call it.”
As if someone had padlocked their lips, Florey and Aurore were completely silent after that. Florey had a similar issue, but definitely not as bad as Aurore. Their mum got off the phone. “Marcie’s coming to dinner tonight.”
