Chapter 1: Finding Hope
There I was a crying baby on the shore, in my baby carrier, alone.
Everyone had gone home. And I was left trying to call for my mother. I had no idea what was going on, since I was only 2 months old.
I was abandoned, my very own Mother has abandoned me, and how could I live? Did she want me to die? Yes I think she did.
Suddenly a huge, hot wind blew, like a breath. I stopped crying.
The carrier was rocking, was it the wind?
My eyes were slowly closing, was I falling to sleep?
The shore, the waves, the wind.
I was awaked by a loud crash, I started crying again.
I heard fire crackling, I smelt smoke.
I blinked and found myself with a scaly monster staring at me.
The carrier rocked again, and I settled down.
The Scaly Monster picked me up gently and stared.
Its eyes were turquoise with dots of yellow. Its skin was blue and very shiny.
Its hot breath was soothing, since it was a cold night.
“What is thy name, young angel?”
I couldn’t talk, but this monster used telepathy.
“I see, you do not have a name, I shall call you ‘Sun’, because your skin and eyes shine as bright as the sun.
“My name is Rashida, and I am a Dragon. I am the last of my kind; the humans used my brothers’ skins for their needs.
But you are just a young hatchling, I will make you grow up and you shall me my child.”
I wished I could reply and tell her how grateful I was for her saving me, But of cause she used telepathy to read my mind, and nodded.
After a long while she put me back in my carrier and tucked me in,
“It will be a cold night, my child, you shall keep warm with these blankets the human that conceived you, gave you.”
Her breath made me warmer and I fell asleep after a short while.
