CHAPTER ONE




The leaves and sticks crushed against my feet, as my feet pounded against the ground, at lightning speed. I grumbled angrily, slowing down to a power walk. I stopped dead when I heard more crunching of leaves and sticks against the ground, as if someone was also there. I called out, asking if anyone was there. A man stepped out from a skinny tree,
“yes, I’m here.” He said softly, “and you’re coming with me.” He ran up to me and grabbed my arm, while I tried to fight him off. I was being dragged off, my only hope was a skinny tree, that almost looked like a giant stick. My hands fought to grab it, as I was quickly being pulled away. My hands finally felt scratchy bark, and I sighed in relief to the thought that he may have walked off without me. But then my legs left the ground flying in the air, like superwoman. But no, that was the unfamiliar man trying to yank me off the tree. He pulled harder and the tree started to bend in a downward motion, like a rubber band. I hated the thought of being dragged away from a stranger, never to see my family again. But the tree cracked, slowly, more and more, until it broke off. Then my face was being dragged along the ground, as the man was pulling me by my feet. He chuckled, as he chucked me into a blue van. Then we drove off, leaving the forest behind.

My eyes were wide-spread as I held my hand to my head, as I thought I may be sick, for that was the 18th night in a row I had, had that dream.
