About 900 beanies in the burrow.

« on: December 11, 2011, 06:21:03 pm »

I saw this poster at one of my local stockists today. It says they will be taking pre-orders soon after Christmas.

They look very similar to the Bauble bears except they have zippers instead of the annoying Velcro. Which is a really good idea.

So there is a pink spotted egg with a white bunny inside it called Hopscotch. If its a mutation it will have a pink nose.

There is a spotted egg with a grey bunny inside called Ernest and I guess he has a pink nose mutation too.  Then there is Sprinkles as the CK for February too.

Then for March there is a bunny with paint covered overalls called Splats and the CK is Sir Hops a Lot.

They look gorgeous.  Grin
The bunnies will be popular this Easter. I think I am in love with Ernest. Wink

Any idea how much the boxed bunnies will cost?

I am limiting myself to two boxes of each, cest la vie if they are both common. I am kinda over trying to get mutations now, there are just to many of them

When I was first told of the boxed Easter Eggs, the stockist estimated that they would be at least $20 based on previous boxed releases. I am hoping they are more around the $15 mark though (its a very expensive box if they are $20  Tongue)

I also hope they are sealed alot better than the recent boxed Christmas ones, I have seen so many sets that have been tampered with.

I believe they will be $29.99 each.
I heard this from a retailer here in Frankston who was looking through his monthly newsletter from Skansen.
As he knows I am a collector, he showed me the article and the price that was being charged for each of the boxed Easter bunny beanie kids was written as $29.99 each.

Yes, February will be a very expensive month as all 18 football teams will be released at the same time in a display stand.
That will be 18 x $12 each = $216 then the 5 releases plus a CK.
Yes, Will be saving every penny so that I can get them all.

$29.99 is very expensive for one beanie kid! How can they justify that!

I will probably get them, but I will be complaining all the way.

The boxed bear includes a story book, but still a bit too expensive I think...and I hate finding extra room to keep all these boxes!!!

Mind you, I think they are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

Blake I agree with you  Cheesy
I would rather buy a CK for the same price as one BK with a story book , maybe if they all had different stories for each boxed BK then that would be ok , otherwise you are going to have the same book over and over . ( I dont mean however many rabbit BKs I mean for each box would need a different story in it ) cause for the likes of collectors who buy boxes upon boxes to get the mutation , I think even Erika would get sick of the same book over and over  Roll Eyes

I agree with you there Jillzy,
I bought over 24 pink boxed Bina/Miss Chrissy Claus boxes to not find a gold nose which i eventually bought privately from a BK seller.
Imagine if a book was included and they were all the same.  Only good thing is i am a reseller so i could sell the books off at fairs/fetes to try to get some of my money back.

i am hoping that the 2  boxed Easter Bks  will at least have a different story book in each box.
Will have to wait and see.

Oh gee they are a bit expensive for only one bear, even if a book comes with it.

People are also forgetting January there will also be a boxed Bear, the first of the Redemption will be a boxed bear with a Story Book as well, and will be $30.

So thats $30 in January for that, plus all the others if you buy them, then two lots of $30 in February plus all the other releases PLUS the AFL bears!!!

Even the most die hard collector is going to find that just a bit too much.  While I love special things like this, it needs to be limited to one a year or one every 6 months at the most, not 3 within the same month like the Christmas ones, or 3 within 2 months like these ones.

To make mattes worse, the Bunnies are my absolute favourite bears so I will want to get both of these boxes.  At least Splat in March seems to be just a normal release.

No one's forcing anyone to buy them all,I guess some stockist might have to sort out layby systems for their bk customers with all that expensive stuff Shocked...but that's really overpriced for redemption, seeing as it's meant to be free and you just pay postage. Undecided
