yer you have to cut the sleeve of plastic of the beanie kids tag, and then the code is on the inside of it P.s but be careful, not to cut the whole tag off, I have learnt that the hard way on my huggie Hope that helped

hahah thats good, but you don't have to cut the whole tag off just the one with the code, it does not damage the bear and even if the tag comes off you can reattach tthe tag

I am one of those collectors who has to have the Bear and tags exactly as they came out of the factory, so i have to buy 2 of each beanie kid to get my codes. I Bk i put straight into my collection and the 2nd Bk i open the plastic envelope carefully and use that code.
Even with the older tags that had the scratchy code on the round disc tags, I bought 1 of each bear to put in my collection and then bought extras to get the code.
I am an obsessive collector so have to have minty mint tags and bears for my collection and then just buy the extra bears to have the codes etc.

I think of it this way: It doesn't matter if my BKs aren't mint because I'm never going to sell them because they have sentimental value.

you can get the codes off without damiging the codes, get a pair of siccors and at the top of the code is with a little hole, gently cut through it but make sure you dont cut the bit of the tag
