Yeah I dont like getting bears held as then you feel like you have to buy that one, when it might not be the best looking one and if there are plenty left on the shelf I want to choose one for myself.

I just rang two Kennys, the first store (the one we went to the party at) didnt know anything. The second store, said YES there is a Retailer Exclusive coming in May and YES it is Twins and Fairies - but she is not exactly sure if they are both coming at once, or if it is a Reverse Mute or what.
So I guess we wait.

Each year about 4 stores get their own exclusive bears (hence the name Retailer Exclusive). Kennys usually come out in May, then in June its Toyworld. Then in August its Cardeaux and they usually to a "launch Party" at all their stores on the 1st August to celebrate its release. Then lastly in September its Whats New. So these four bears are only available at one of those stores and no other stores will have them, so Toyworld doesnt get Kennys etc. They are usually an extra release for the month so there will be 6 releases that month. |

so the only way to get my hands on this kennys exclusive is to go to a kennys store?
and then i have to go back to get another one for the mute?
sorry this isnt making alot of sense to me!! lol!!

I have only been to the one last year as the previous year I lived in Wagga and the nearest Cardeaux was an hour and a half away, and we had interstate visitor arrive that day, else I would have gone, but anyway....
Basically it is like any other Beanie Kid Party, with games and prizes, fancy dress etc. They hold them at all Cardeaux Stores on the 1st of August, the day the Retailer Exclusive for Cardeaux is released. At last years party they gave you a Raffle ticket for each Knicker Boxer the bear (the RE) you bought and then a prize was drawn.
They also held a Treasure Hunt in the weeks leading up to the Party and you had to find the BKs in stores and get the clues to spell the name of the BK (Knicker Bockers). Georgia won this Treasure Hunt and that is how she got her G'Day GBK.

When I lived in Wagga I rang the Kennys in Adelaide and bought one over the phone, I got my mum to collect it for me, but they said they were willing to send it out to me if I needed them to. Look up your nearest Kennys, Toyworld and Cardeaux and see if they have email addresses and email them and start planning now. Just in case it takes you a while to find one that will send it to you.
You will be far better off buying directly from the store and paying up to $6 postage than going to ebay - I couldnt believe the prices ebay sellers were asking for Mia and SugarPlum last year, it was just silly.
Good Luck. We dont have any Whats New near us, but I have had the head office send me the last two in the last two years and they send them for $4.
Cardeaux dont send them to people! i tried to get moonlight that way but they wouldn't do it because they didn't know how much to charge for postage and handling! |
