Q. Why do I need to be a member to play the games?

A. Most of our new games allow you to save your high scores and print certificates. To do this we need to make sure you are signed in as a member before you play the game. Sometimes we also run competitions with the games and to enter you need to be a member.

Q. Who was the first BK ever made?

A. The first BK was actually a set of five that included Jade, Goldie, Ruby, Amber and Bluey. You can see them by doing a search on their names on the website homepage.

Q. Who came up with the idea of Beanie Kids?

A. The original creator of Beanie Kids was Sam Gowing (Designer) and a brother and sister team, Jacqui and Irwin Tobias.

Q. When did Beanie Kids start?

A. Beanie Kids were first released in September 1997 after months of careful planning and many attempts to get just the 'right look'.

Q. Who is the Beanie Master?

A. The Beanie Master is the nominated leader of all the Beanie Kids. You can read all about him and how he became the Beanie Master by clicking here

Q. How old is the Beanie Master?

A. The Beanie Master was born on the 6th September 2001 making him 7 in 2008.

Q. Where can I buy the Beanie Master?

A. Please check with your local Beanie Kids Premier stockist to see if they have any Beanie Masters for sale. If not you might like to check www.beanieexpress.com.au or www.ebay.com.au, but please make sure that you check with mum or dad first.

Q. How many Beanie Kids are there?

A. You can now see the population of the Beanie Kids on Beanie Island on the right hand side of the website home page. We have over 600 different Beanie Kid designs so far with no plans to stop making them anytime soon!

Q. What is a Mutation?

A. As you're probably aware, no two Beanie Kids are exactly the same. However, sometimes a Beanie Kid can stand out from the others because of a deliberate difference. These are what we call mutations. Because this rarely happens, mutations become a treasured possession, are extremely hard to find and can increase in value. Click here for more about mutations.

Q. What is a Gold Mutation?

A. A Gold Mutation is a third, even more limited, version of a Beanie Kid release. So, there is a Regular Beanie Kid and then there is a limited amount released with a subtle deliberate difference, called a Mutation (which you have seen with many Beanies in the past such as Crystal, Squeak and Pirouette) and now a third version that is even more limited in number, called a Gold Mutation. Q. Is my Beanie Kid a mutation?

A. Your Bear is only a mutation if it is listed in both the Collector's Guide and the BK website as an official mutation. However you could have a rare Beanie Kid with a mismatched tag or a different body part. This just makes it special but not a mutation.

Q. Where can I buy Beanie Kids?

A. If you click on the 'Buying BK's' section of the homepage you can search for your closest Beanie Kids Premier Stockist who will be able to assist you with all of your Beanie Kids needs.

Q. Where can I find rare Beanie Kids that have retired?

A. The best thing to do is to check with your local Beanie Kids Premier Stockist and if they don't have the BK you are looking for you might like to try either one of your internet stockists like www.beanieexpress.com.au or maybe even www.ebay.com.au but please make sure that you check with mum or dad first.

Q.What is my Beanie Kid worth?

A. There is no exact way of telling what your Beanie Kid might be worth as it is up to the person/collector who is buying it and how much they are willing to pay. You can check out the retired BK's prices at the Beanie Kids Exchange for a rough guide but you really won't know what your BK is worth until you sell it!

Q. How come I never win any of the competitions on the Beanie Kids website?

A. The truth is that we just get so many entries to all of our competitions that it is impossible to let all of our fans win a prize. Keep trying though as you never know when it will be your lucky day!

Q. Where is Beanie Island?

A. Beanie Island is located off the East coast of Australia but it is so magical that only true Beanie Kids can find it on the map and visit there.

Q. Why isn't there a Beanie Kid born on my birthday?

A. We are working on filling all of the dates that don't currently have a BK born on them. As we only release 5 designs a month it can take a little while but we thank you for your patience.

Q. Are there any BK events happening near me?

A. You can stay up to date with all of the Beanie Kids parties and events by visiting the BK Events section of the website.

Q. Why are Premier Exclusive Beanie Kids retired on the day of their release?

A. Because they are a collectable. If designs were not retired there would be over 600 current designs in the shops and the stores would be flooded with Beanie Kids! You would also have no increase in value if the Beanie Kids didn't retire.

Q. Where are all the high scores from the old website?

A. Unfortunately the high scores from the old Beanie Kids website could not be moved to the new website. We apologise to everyone that had a high score on the old website, especially those who tried very hard to get one. We hope that you will play the games again and set new high scores. And if you are lucky enough to get a Top 10 Score, you will be able to print out your very own High Score Award.

Q. What is a Secret Access Code?

A. During March 2008 to June 2009 we released an extra special game each month. These were known as 'Secret Access Code Games' and were more fun and exciting than our regular games. You will find the secret access code inside the swing tag of all Beanie Kid releases from March 2008-June 2009. Secret Access Codes are no longer required to play the games but if you have recently purchased a Beanie Kid with a scratch code, we recommend not to scratch it. Q. What is the Beanie Masters favourite BK?

A. This is a super tough question to answer as the Beanie Master has so many friends on Beanie Island but some of the BK's he loves to hang out with are: Peep the Meerkat, Henrietta the Hippo, See-More the Seeing Eye Dog and Gummy the Koala.

Q. Should I cut off my Beanie Kids swing tags?

A. This is completely up to you. If you do decide to cut off your tags make sure you keep them in a safe place so they can be reattached using a 'Kimble' gun which can be found in most fabric or clothing stores. If you are thinking of selling your Beanie Kids you will need to ensure that the tags are reattached as the swing tag is what adds the value to the bear.

Q. Are the Beanie Kids made by hand or machine?

A. All Beanie Kids are made by hand, in that they are fed by hand through a sewing machine and all of the final stitching on the back of the neck is done completely by hand.

Q. Can I have a Beanie Kid designed and named after me or one of my designs?

A. It took me over 5 years to get a Beanie Master BK made so I don't like your chances.

Q. What sex/gender is the Beanie Master?

A. The Beanie Master is Male otherwise if he was a girl he would be called the Beanie Mistress!

A. This a an online diary where you can go in and read all about what the Beanie Kids have been up to on Beanie Island. A. I really love eating cheese with Chomp the Rat as well as anything sweet!
