How Beanie Kids Figurines Are Made
STEP 1
First thing is to decide which Beanie Kid will get the honour of becoming a Figurine. Several hand drawn sketches are made before deciding on the final design.
STEP 2
That initial sketch is then re-created on computer so we can get a better idea on what the final product will look like with correct colours etc.
STEP 3
The figurine is then roughly carved out of compound that is similar to play-dough only a lot firmer. The trick is to remove all the bits that DON'T look like Ouch!
STEP 4
Then all the fine detail is created Each part of the fur is individualy marked and takes quite a considerable amount of time to create, until we finally get the finished Master Figurine.
STEP 5
A Cast is then made from the Master Figurine. It is checked to make sure that every bit of detail has been transferred from the Master Figurine.
STEP 6
Figurines are then cast. The poly resin that is used for the figurines is plain white, which makes it easier for painting.
STEP 7
The figurine is then carefully painted by hand. Every detail is highlighted during the painting process, from the eyes to the dot's on the band-aid in the middle of his chest.
STEP 8
And Voila! The final figurine.
