The Victorian bushfires have affected so many lives, leaving many homeless with everything being taken by the fires. The strength of the fire fighters and the community of the areas affected is to be admired. The entire nation has pulled together to assist those in need.

Raising Money for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009

Skansen Pty Ltd has released an extra special one of a kind Giant Big Kid - Firey the Firefighter Bear for charity auction on eBay.

All money raised from this auction will be matched dollar for dollar by Skansen and will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009. For more information on this appeal or to make a separate donation click here

Giant Big Kid - Firey the Firefighter Bear

Firey the Firefighter Giant Big Kid stands 1 metre tall and is one of a kind, never to be reproduced. A certificate of Authenticity will be included.

It will be auctioned off on eBay with all proceeds going to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009. Every dollar counts in this time of need, and the money raised will help families and communities rebuild their lives.

UPDATED 12/02/2009: Dear Beanie Fans. This morning there was a misunderstanding with eBay and they removed our charity auction. This has now been corrected and the charity auction for the one-of-a-kind Giant Firey the Firefighter is back online. If you had previously placed a bid on the old auction we encourage you to place your bid again. This is a time of mourning for the Victorian bushfire victims and Skansen are running this charity auction to show our support.

UPDATED 14/02/2009: Dear Beanie Fans. Ebay have mistakenly removed our charity auction for a second time. As you know Skansen have authority from the Red Cross to raise money on their behalf (see here). We hope to get this matter resolved as quickly as possible. UPDATED 15/02/2009: Dear Beanie Fans. Ebay have acknowledged their mistake and have re-listed our charity auction for a third time. Hopefully this time it will run for the full 10 days. If you had placed a bid on the old auction we encourage you to place your bid again.

UPDATED 25/02/2009: The charity auction for Giant Firey has just ended, with the final bidder winning with $7,037.30. And with Skansen matching dollar for dollar, we've managed to raise a whopping $14,074.60!!! Thank you to everyone for their support.
