In 2006 we experienced the loss of a very special Australian, Steve Irwin. All of us on Beanie Island wanted to do something to acknowledge, Steve Irwin's true Aussie spirit and the wonderful work he and his team at Wildlife Warriors do for conservation of wildlife around the world.
What is Wildlife Warriors?
Wildlife Warriors aim is to be the most effective wildlife conservation organisation the world. They are achieving this goal through numerous wildlife projects and programs throughout the world which focus on key areas: protecting habitats, protecting wildlife, sharing knowledge and engaging people.
UPDATE: Salty the Crocodile raises $25,000 for Wildlife Warriors!
Salty Shines for the Wildlife Warriors: In 2007, $1 from every Salty the Crocodile bear sold was donated to Wildlife Warriors and after Salty being on sale for just 8 months, $25,000 was raised!
UPDATE: The Australian Wildlife Hospital
Mostly recently several sick and injured birds have been admitted to the Australian Wildlife Hospital. The most dramatic case was Jenny the Pelican. She was found with fishing line in her mouth, however when we did an x-ray we found that she had already swallowed a fishing hook and a 40 cm length of wire that had come off a crab pot!
UPDATE: Salty's been on Safari to visit the Queen
Salty the Crocodile Bear recently went on an African Safari and visited London where he made it to the walls of Buckingham place in an attempt to meet the Queen.
UPDATE: Meet Doctor Jon
Salty and Dr Jon are already great friends and Salty makes a great patient. So let's meet Dr. Jon and find out a little but more about him and the work that goes on at the hospital...

Salty the Crocodile has been released with our April 2007 Beanie Kids in support of a very worthy cause - Wildlife Warriors and in memory of a great Aussie Steve Irwin.
UPDATE: Giant Snappy Charity Auction
In memory of Steve Irwin and to ensure that his dream and his spirit live on, we auctioned a one-of-a-kind GIANT BIG KID Snappy the Crocodile Bear on E-bay, with all monies raised being donated to Steve his conservation organisation Wildlife Warriors! This very Special Snappy the Crocodile Bear was accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and special charity Swing Tag.
